Unfinished Business
Saturday April 9, 2005 5:20 PM CDT, location: UA895, altitude 32000 feet, 5340 miles to Hong Kong, over 10 hours until touchdown. Position: Somewhere over the Queen Elizabeth Islands.

Most people around me on the flight are asleep, but since I've been working nights, my body tells me it's time to be awake. It'll be a miracle if I don't get sick from this crappy schedule I've been working.

I was home for three weeks, but it doesn't seem that I really got anything done. I feel rejuvinated, yet weary. I feel incomplete. I wanted to use my time at home to start fresh in so many areas, and all I really ended up with was more unfinished business. It seems that the whole time I was home, I was fighting off being sick, until the last week when it caught up with me. I ended up packing the night before, and the morning of, leaving, like so many times before. Maybe one day I'll get better at this.

There were some accomplishments, but even those went unfinished. The Foundation picked up the ball from my friend, agreeing to do an event that could give us publicity, and a kick start, that we desperately need. But just as we thought we had it setup, the location pulled the rug out from under us, and now we're in effect back at the starting point. Our headliner is still on board, but there's some serious logistical work that needs to be worked out. And I'm not going to be around to help out.

I haven't been able to reach my friend in Tokyo, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to take that trip, like I had planned. If that doesn't work out, I'll just use the time to travel elsewhere in Asia, but I was really looking forward to making that work.
